A Japanese Garden

This yard was done in a rustic Japanese style. A central courtyard is surrounded on three sides by a waist high wall while on the fourth side a traditional porch provides entry to the house. A set of stairs opposite the porch leads to a garden area with raised beds and a play structure. On the street side free standing fence elements screen the yard from the street while ornamental grasses, Japanese Maples, and other plantings complement the structures. Set within the courtyard itself are several planting areas as well as a 'dry garden' for contemplation.
